16th September – a new Level 2 coach!

Many congratulations to Léonie!  Yesterday she qualified as a Level 2 paddlesport instructor!

It was a demanding two-day assessment, undertaken at Glenmore Lodge in the Cairngorms: lesson plans, practical sessions with real pupils, ability in rough conditions, detailed proof of previous coaching and development – and a theory paper as well.

This morning she’ll be tired but jubilant – well done!

Here are some photos of Léonie negotiating the Falls of Lora a couple of weeks ago;  these are ‘stills’ captured from a GoPro videocam, mounted on the rear of her boat.  Quite a contrast to the gently flowing waters of 3rd August… in September, the tides are the biggest of the year, making the water almost roar out of the mouth of Loch Etive and under Connel Bridge towards the sea.
